Conceptually speaking, we are not among the "super-purists" in terms of miking, who basically want to work best with only two microphones - this can never lead to an artistically demanding recording. Similarly, too many microphones spoil easily the sound and the desired effect, because the signals influence each other negatively and the natural sound body is torn apart.

What is not captured by the microphones cannot later be reconstructed by nothing. This is how microphones of all well-known manufacturers can be found in our collection. At central positions we mainly use types of SCHOEPS, NEUMANN, AKG, and RØDE, because they create a wonderfully plastic and highly musical sound.

For us, the ideal lies in the middle. The majority of the sound is made up of a "main microphone system" consisting of 4 to 7 microphones, which on the one hand represent the sound body in a very realistic manner, on the other hand there is enough scope for adapting the situation during the performance to the situation , Otherwise, with as few supports as possible (additional microphones in the vicinity of individual instruments or instrument groups), this work is carried out with a relatively small contribution; in the end just to round off the sound or to help balance, where it can not be reached by natural means.

In terms of technology and software, we rely on Apple MAC Computer (SMM), AVID ProTools HDX software and hardware as well as Merging Pyramix & Horus / Hapi.
